Aeeshah Clottey was an extraordinary woman. She was a mother to the world, a pillar to the West Oakland community, an expert in Attitudinal Healing, and a talented motivational speaker. Beautiful, welcoming, humorous, and thoughtful, Aeeshah was cherished by all who knew her.

Aeeshah dedicated her life to the betterment of her global communities. In 1989, she founded The Center for ArtEsteem alongside her husband, twin soul, and life partner, Kokomon, and shared her talent for finding peace and healing through spirituality.

She was widely respected for her work and received many awards of recognition for her infectious compassion: the Jampolsky Award of Excellence, a Certificate of Congressional Recognition, and an induction into the Alameda County Women’s Hall of Fame are listed among many of her accolades.

Aeeshah nurtured her unmatched passion for bringing people together through becoming a beacon of hope and resilience. Her legacy cannot be understated. Aeeshah will be severely missed by the countless people she positively impacted. As stated by many who had the honor of knowing her, she was “a pioneer and a visionary,” “a beautiful and radiant soul,” and had “a profound impact on West Oakland.” May she rest in love and power.
